So you think there will be a kit for 2012 MAK2 owners that didn't get the 1/2 flame zone covers? Any idea on timing? No, what us early 2012 adopters got was one full flame zone pan and one full blank pan, no covers for flame zone.
NorCal I've already asked Bob about this and he is trying to put a kit together for the few of us that only need covers/tool.

Very cool! I love to be able to smoke, then direct grill things like chicken and steaks, without having to swap out a whole bunch of stuff. I do it all the time in my Primo, but now I can do it in the MAK2 as well...very cool and can't wait! Thanks for the info.Yes a kit for covers and tool. I'm hearing in the next few weeks, hopefully.
Hey! I forgot about the Smoker Box! That's definitely another good options...I might try that...I'm sure it will work great! Thanks! You can always place the meat you want to smoke over in the smoking box to the right of your main cooking chamber. When finished smoking, bump the temp up and move the meat over into the main chamber where the full flame zone pan would be located.
The 2012 2 Stars only have a full blank grease pan, or a full flame zone. I bought the new Mak 1 star flame zone, and while I love the flame zone I was disappointed that it doesn't have a full quick change blank grease pan. The flame zone has 2 covers that go over it, but it makes it very hard to tinfoil and on the long cooks I found that the grease creeps under the covers and into the flame zone holes. For now I'll just have to remove the flame zone and quick change kit and use the old blank grease pan on long cooks :/
