3) Enter your wireless router SSID and security password or pass phrase into the Pellet Boss(Instructions should be included).
!

This should be a trick! Can't wait to read the instructions. Hit up arrow 72 times for T and down arrow 37 times for Z!;)

Kite, don't wish, go buy one. I'm sure BPS can have a Mak at your place in no time! :)

Kite, I went with new grill too many times. Guess where that left me? I agree, go with the smiling wife.

Agreed...64 characters with a combination of lower, upper, numbers, and special characters. It'll take me 2 hours to put in the code :(.

Will we have the ability to assign the device a static IP or will it only work with DHCP?

Ok Jim, I think you know something you're not sharing? I guess we will just have to wait until next week, won't we? :)

Yes, like Jim said, only once will you need to configure your PelletBoss with your personal router's wireless SSID and security passcode/passphrase/key. After that, every time you power on your MAK it will automatically log onto your wireless network and connect with the MAK mobile website. Very cool!
MAK Grills has made it possible for everyone who can operate the PelletBoss and knows their home router wireless SSID and wireless security password to be able to control their MAK with a smart phone, smart device, laptop or PC!

MAK DADDY, we'll be able to download new IOS updates with this setup?

Short answer is yes but not currently. The hardware is set up for it (so you don't have to purchase anything else) but we don't have all the code ready to do it yet, one step at a time :)

You know, 90% of the time my iPad sits on the kitchen counter just inside the door to my back deck where my 2 Star patiently waits for it's next cook. Yes it is easy to just open the door and diddle with the PB, but anyone who knows me, knows I am a tech junkie, and there is no way I would not want to have this feature. Also, the other 10% of the time my iPad is with me in my chair watching TV, and I am a lazy cuss, and would MUCH rather stay there monitoring my cook than getting-up and missing a good play in whatever game I am watching.

The constant innovation by MAK is incredible and I am so proud to see an American company (in Oregon no less), continually raising the bar for everyone. As the expression goes - "Innovate, or die". I think we'll have the opportunity to see MAK in this business for a very long time...

Here is the screenshot on a iPad

It allows you to have user programs on the site that you can make and use name whatever. Will have to mess with a few days but it looks nice.

Screenshot iPhone. A little harder to see because of screen size but very doable

Pretty cool! Is a Wi-Fi connection mandatory or will we be able to use our phone network?

There are download modules that you use to update the software so it can run the WiFi, which those who got the first wave of test units need to return so the next wave can go out. Mine goes back to MAK today.

If you have a phone network you can purchase a small router for around 30 bucks.

Thanks Bob...I have a home network with wi-fi...just curious if I can use it at comps with no wi-fi available on site. Can I use my phone to connect to the internet page?
Cheers!
