This is a fun contest where everyone can show off their weekend cooks and win prizes from Big Poppa Smokers.
The only rules are:
You can cook with anything you want- gasser, charcoal, campfire, or pellet fired. Just incorporate pellets into the cook somehow and show how you used them.
This is a weekend contest- Starts on Friday and entries are due Sunday, Midnight Pacific time. If it's a holiday weekend Big Poppa can extend the entry period. No Library cooks. Judging happens the next day.
You win you judge! This weeks winner is next weeks judge.
Have fun! This isn't a cut throat comp, just a fun way to share what you're cooking and to see what everyone else is doing!
posting that foil pouch pellet cooking gets a point reduction is just wrong. One of the most respected, helpful contributors on this forum posted for a very long time using only foil pellets. It would have been very huge loss to this forum if he felt that he wasn't as valuable as the person who has a pellet grill and hadn't stuck around.
I didn't stop to consider some would not enter the contest because I've given them a guide to what I'll be looking for when judging.
That being said, I think a friendly 'backyard comp judging' thread would be helpful to those of us who are toying with the idea of entering some local competitions.. Whoever wants to participate can post photos of their 'turn in box', and the CJs here can chime in with how they would score them at a real KCBS/whatever contest.
Just a thought.

Also looking at the same four meats can get a little boring.
