Retirement Plans?

Now I know I'm not the only old fart around here. I am retireing in two years and I was wondering what others were thinking about doing when you retire. I have been cooking for almost three decades and was thinking about a food truck. Sounds like the perfect job. Cook lunch and out on the course for a round of golf in the afternoon. What's your plans?

RickB I am, sadly, far from retirement but my hat is off to you for making to the promise land or least you can see it....

What type of food would you have on your truck?

What ever it is, based on what I have seen you cook here... count me in line every time I am in the ATL.

Rick! Sounds like you're trading one job for another, not retiring!! But I guess you need something to occupy your days so doing something you like will either fill the bill or make you hate food service! ;)

We are about 5 years shy of retirement and plan to disappear into the south Pacific. We don't plan to do anything that resembles work.. get up with the sun, go for a swim in the back yard, have some lunch, take a nap, go for a swim in the back yard, have some dinner, have a sundowner, crash and then do it again.

Rick, I've got about two years also, I'll be 65 in March. I'd like to buy a metal lathe, milling machine and a sheet metal bender, so I can pursue BBQ mods and other things. I also love growing gourmet garlic and cold smoking it.

Rick, No you aren't the only old fart around here.
The "beer cart" is a great retirement pick.
Grab the early hours, wrapping it up at 3PM or so.
Then it's free golf. Bang out 9 & head home.
Can not beat it.
