Well, finally getting around to posting our Thanksgiving! I will start off by quoting my Dad; "You win, we will cook both turkeys on the MAK". Which was followed by 3 days of texts & comments that we all won since the turkey was the best we have ever had...and the leftovers were amazing.
One spatchcocked with Obie-Cue's Sunshine Grilling Spice & Desert Gold
We had to maneuver a bit to fit both birds on Minnie, but we got it done!!
Set to 275*, using both thermometers on they go.
I pre-baked the pumpkin & apple, blackberry pies.
Now to try my hand at pecan pie!
Letting everything cook, time to chill & enjoy dad's new recliner!
Smaller, spatchcock bird is done:
Now to add the family recipe stuffing (kept it traditional this year, watch out at Christmas, may just bust out with crazy stuffing)
