The weather around here has been poor and I am out of pulled pork.

Picked up 4 butts from my local butcher


Injection comes from a fellow from another site. It’s very good I think.
1 cup apple juice
¼ cup water
½ cup salt
½ cup dark brown sugar
¼ cup agave nectar ( I used Canadian maple Syrup)
1 tbs worcestshire sauce
Heat over medium heat until salt and sugar are completely dissolved. Allow time to cool.

Butts on the upper level, water Pan on the lower



I started with about 2 hrs of smoke then raised the the temp to 235F. I did all this late at night hoping to be up early in the morning to foil at the 140/150 mark. They went faster than expected.

Sorry BP should have said. The hand made one is the one my wife perfered. Even a lot of salt in the injection but you don't seem to taste it. I was just cleaning up my old rubs to start using the new.

¼ Cup Turbinado Sugar (you can use regular or “light brown” if you can’t find this at your store)
¼ Cup Kosher Salt
¼ Cup Paprika
1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
1 Tbsp Onion Powder
1 Tbsp Fresh Ground (coarse) Black Pepper
(stir all ingredients together thoroughly before applying to meat)

Nice work on that cook. Always good to try out new stuff to figure out what works best for you. Also your pics make me happy to live in Alberta not Manitoba.
