Many posts refer this way to the MAK. Is it in reference to the 2 STAR, 1 STAR or both?
The gauge of metal and weight seem to be about aveage for both PGs/

There are so many people on this forum that I need to thank for getting me to a decision regarding my first PG purchase. I don't want to slight anybody; but there were some forum members who need to be recognized:
Big Poppa-you knowledge of the subtle differences between PGs was invaluable to me...
Prevents me from considering top of the line pellet grills. Since the:
Memphis Select, and
The MAK 1 Star
don't get much of the spotlight. I'd like to know this groups thoughts on these two pellet grills. From what I can tell:
1. The Select is SS, The 1 Star is PCd
2. The Select is the larger of...
and accepting my budget limitations, I've got it down to the following PGs:
Yoder 480/640
Memphis Advantage
MAK 1 Star.
I cook year around. I live in the mid-west where we get real snow/ice in winter and rain in spring. My current grill/smoker is a large BGE. I do like smoke.
Anyone wish to help...
Just wondering what to expect. My biggest problem is that none of the USA made pellet grills/smokers are represented in my local area. The Memphis products are carried at a store 60 miles from me. No MAKs or FECPGs. Hard to spend that kinda money "blindly".

I don't have an unlimited budget to buy a pellet smoker. I also live in Indianapolis, IN where the most available manufacturer is the Traeger. On paper I've got it down to the Yoder, and the Memphis based on pellet burning efficiency; but the MAX is also in play.
The Yoder weighs over 300 lbs...
