This is an easy, quick smoked snack. I've made this on a gas grill too but this Memphis Pro bread was my favorite.
I scored (sliced) a loaf of olive oil bread. ( dense bread works best)
Fried bacon, then sautéed scallions and garlic in the bacon drippings with 2 Tablespoons of butter added...

This recipe belongs to a friend in Germany, it was his Hungarian wife's recipe.
2 1/2lbs shanks (I use beef)
2 1/2lbs onions cubed
5 cloves garlic
1 tsp crushed caraway
1 TBS marjoram
